Yuvraj Singh, a former Indian cricket player, denies rumours that he may run for the Lok Sabha constituency.

Yuvraj Singh, a former all-rounder for India, dismissed rumours on Friday that he could run for the Lok Sabha seat from Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. “Contrary to media reports, I’m not contesting elections from Gurdaspur,” Yuvraj Singh said in a post on X.

The 42-year-old  former cricket player declared that he will continue to use his foundation to serve and assist people in many ways because this is his passion. Reiterating his dedication to his charitable activities through the ‘YOUWECAN’ organisation, he stated that his passion is helping others.

According to earlier rumours, the BJP could run him for the Gurdaspur seat. Yuvraj Singh and his mother Shabnam Singh recently visited Union minister Nitin Gadkari, which fueled rumours that he might run from Gurdaspur. Currently, Sunny Deol of the BJP is the seat’s holder. Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, chastised Deol a few days earlier for his “absence” from the constituency and reminded him that being in politics meant always being accessible to the people.
