Congress Leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Slam BJP and PM Modi Over Sex Abuse Allegations

The Congress party intensified its criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in light of the sexual abuse allegations against Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, with both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra condemning the BJP’s silence on the matter. The JD(S) and BJP are allies in Karnataka, adding complexity to the situation.

Taking to social media, Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Modi of maintaining a “shameful silence” on the heinous crimes against women in Karnataka. Rahul questioned why the BJP promoted Revanna, whom he referred to as a “monster” who exploited hundreds of women for votes. He further criticized Modi’s alleged inaction in preventing Revanna’s escape from the country.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, while addressing a gathering in Assam, also lashed out at the BJP leadership, highlighting the issue of women’s safety. She pointed out the incidents in Karnataka and criticized Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly allowing the accused to flee the country. Priyanka emphasized the BJP’s failure to address offenses against women, citing instances like the Hathras case in Uttar Pradesh and incidents in Manipur.

During her speech, Priyanka reached out to women voters, claiming that the BJP government has done little for their welfare. She highlighted the burdens faced by women and criticized the government’s policies, suggesting they offer minimal support to women.

Moreover, Priyanka targeted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging that the BJP shielded him from allegations after he joined the party, referring to the “BJP washing machine” that purportedly absolves its members of wrongdoing.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was campaigning in Gauripur, Assam, in support of party candidate Rakibul Hussain, who is contesting against sitting MP Badruddin Ajmal of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and BJP ally Zabed Islam of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in a triangular contest.

The strong remarks from Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra underscore the escalating political tensions ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with the Congress sharpening its attacks on the ruling BJP over issues of women’s safety and governance.
